In this intimate memoir, Lise Weil documents an important chapter in lesbian history through the lens of her personal experiences as a lesbian coming of age in the ’70s and ’80s. Weil revisits her personal relationships as well as her spiritual journey to a calmer and more fulfilling love life while exploring the ideas, personalities, and trends that formed the lesbian feminist culture of the late 20th century.
Lise Weil founded Trivia: A Journal of Ideas in 1982 and was editor of its online relaunch, Trivia: Voices of Feminism. In 2014, Weil founded the online journal Dark Matter: Women Witnessing. Her collection of Mary Meigs’s writings on aging, Beyond Recall (2005), was a finalist for a 2006 Lambda Literary Award in biography. She lives in Montreal and hosts annual retreats for women writers.
