Senior Pride Meetings & Support Groups

Due to COVID-19, Senior Pride is offering our programs online via Zoom conferencing until we can gather safely in person again. Unless otherwise specified, to get your Zoom invitation, email us. Please include the date and event (speaker, book club, etc.) you wish to attend.

Senior Pride Steering Committee Meeting

1st Thursday of each month, 10:30am-12:15pm

Meetings will be online until further notice.
The Steering Committee conducts business, sets policies and plans new programming. Committees continue to work, and our volunteer Executive Director, Lavina Tomer, is non-stop taking care of Senior Pride management, programs, fundraising and reports, albeit from home.

GBTQ Men’s Grief Support and Empowerment Group

Facilitator Bob Ebert currently works with Emblem Hospice as a Spiritual Counselor (Chaplain). Trained at the University of San Francisco Medical Center, he supported the work and mission of Maitri Hospice in San Francisco, a residential Buddhist hospice founded in response to the AIDS epidemic. Bob also worked with at-risk homeless teens in San Francisco – safer sex education – disease prevention and counseling. He is motivated to encourage self empowerment, positive LGBTQ identity and non sectarian spiritual exploration and development.

LBTQ Women’s Grief Group

Weekly support group (free) for Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer women 18 years of age and older who are looking for an accepting space in which to share their loss. A facilitated, peer support group.
Co-sponsored by YWCA Tucson, Women’s Counseling Network and Southern Arizona Senior Pride.

Senior Pride Book Club

NEW! Senior Pride AA Meeting

Mondays, 7-8pm

This is an open meeting, available to all persons who are interested in the AA program of recovery. The format is Step Meeting (12×12), reading and discussing selections from the AA publication, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. To attend, send your email address to the meeting coordinator. Your email address is completely confidential and will be seen only by the coordinator of the group for the purpose of giving you access to the next online meeting. You may request your email address be removed from the meeting list at any time.

Dinner with EON Youth

(TBA) 5pm

Usually Senior Pride members meet to cook a dinner for EON Youth every 3 months. However, Senior Pride was not able to serve the March and June EON dinners. Instead, we supported the meal for the youth with donations. We look forward to being able to participate in person with an upcoming dinner!
Every 3rd month.

Weekly group at the UA Cancer Center for patients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. Group is not limited to Cancer Center patients. It is available to the community. Family and friends are welcome. The group includes support people.

PCOA LGBT-WELCOMING Caregiver Support Group

TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network) offers a monthly lunch for people living with HIV. Volunteers provide a delicious and nutritious lunch followed by time to chat, participate in a game or two of bingo and enjoy our raffle of fun and useful gifts. Get out of the house, meet other positive people and enjoy great food!
Advance registration required. Each registered participant may bring one adult guest, 18 or older, who must register once a year as a guest. Registering also qualifies you to receive a monthly CarePackage of paper goods and toiletries.

Rainbow Flicks (formerly Gay Pride Flickathon)

A variety of gay and straight movies once a month, usually the 3rd or 4th Saturday or Sunday of the month.

Suggested donations for snacks and non-alcoholic beverages: between 50¢ and $2.
